Lady Ella Johnson (Lady J) – A Life of Service, Strength, and Faith Lady Ella Johnson, affectionately known as Lady J, is a woman of unwavering faith, devoted service, and remarkable resilience. She served faithfully at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) for 17 years, where she held numerous leadership roles, including Youth Director for five years, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) Teacher, Young Women’s Christian Council Treasurer, and Chaplain. Her passion for outreach was evident through her involvement in the Nursing Home Ministry, Hospital Ministry, Jail Ministry, Street Team Ministry, Tree House Ministry, and the creation of the Utility Financial Support Program for clients transitioning out of the Family & Crisis Outreach Center in Killeen, Texas. She also served as the YPWW Chair Lady of the Greater Waco District for over 18 years.

 

On January 16, 2002, alongside her husband, Supt. Michael Johnson, she became the co-founder of Agape Church of God in Christ, where she currently serves as First Lady, Church Administrator, Supervisor of the Women’s Department, Youth Activities Director, and Director of Lady J’s Program of Learning. She also serves as President of the Pastors and Ministers' Wives for the Texas Southwest 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Lady Johnson is a licensed Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ and a Board Certified Therapon Belief Therapist.

 

Lady J is a retired educator with 30 years of experience in the education field, 23 of which were dedicated to the Killeen Independent School District. During her career, she served as a Special Education Mathematics Teacher and Athletic Coordinator at Smith Middle School, coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. Her excellence in education earned her several awards and accolades.

 

She is the proud mother of two daughters, both accomplished scholars: Colesha, a Master’s graduate of the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor in Belton, Texas, and Michelle, a Master’s graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.

 

Married since November 20, 1982, Lady J is the devoted wife and steadfast partner in ministry to Supt. Michael Johnson. Her faith was tested when she was diagnosed not once, but twice, with stage four breast cancer. Through these trials, she stood firmly on the promises of God and emerged a two-time cancer survivor. She gives all glory to God for her healing and restoration.

 

Lady Ella Johnson believes her divine assignment is to love unconditionally, bring clarity to God’s Word, and help others discover their God-given purpose while living a life of holiness in a world in need of light.
